The Wetherell Award (2026-)

For Outstanding Piece of Cricket Journalism

This is The Cricket Society’s award for an outstanding individual piece of cricket journalism by a UK-based journalist or group of journalists of any age. 

All types of media are eligible, including (but not restricted to):

• Written article (feature / opinion piece)
• Match report
• Podcast episode
• Video or radio package

This award was previously given for leading all-rounders but was discontinued in 2020. It has been re-instated as above in 2026.

The award is decided by a panel of The Cricket Society judges and awarded annually at our Autumn Lunch.
