The Don Rowan Memorial Trophy for Surrey School/College
2025 Winner: Spa School, Bermondsey
This award, with its trophy, was established in memory of Don Rowan. Initially, The Cricket Society and Surrey CCC nominated “the Primary School considered to be the most outstanding in promoting cricket in the Surrey Area.” Today the focus has changed whereby the award goes to the Surrey School/College judged outstanding in using cricket in its programme for children with special needs. The winning School/College embodies the love, enthusiasm and commitment to cricket that is at the heart of The Game. We thank Katie Rowan for her continued support of this award.
This year's winner is Spa School in Bermondsey, who also won this award in 2013 and continue to excel in the way they bring cricket to their pupils and use it to develop teamwork, hand-eye co-ordination and love of the game.
Caroline Robinson of Surrey CCC Foundation says, “Spa School have been proactive in everything to do with cricket attending both our Schools' Day and our Disability Day and taking part in school-based sessions and playing in our Table Cricket Competitions as well.”
